She reached under the blouse and got her hand on the butt of the gun, and when he turned around from tying off his boat onto hers, the first thing he saw was Molly, standing all the way at the back of the yacht in the cockpit, holding an automatic in a very competent manner and aiming it straight between his eyes. One hand made a tiny little twitch towards one pocket of his vest and then froze and overly casually dropped back to his side. He stood there frozen for a second or two, his face carefully expressionless, and Molly broke the silence. "So the big secret agent man brought a gun too. I should have guessed. I called you here to kill you, lover. But now that I see you, it just doesn't seem to be worth the effort. Frankly, I wish you'd just go the hell away with the data you stole."
Then the sea serpent's head rose up out of the black water behind the man, higher and higher, almost impossible to see any details in the moonlight, and Molly's eyes went wide and her face went slack in stupification.

Wow!!! - Loved this book. A whole lot of action, adventure, suspense, spies, exotic tropical scenery, and sex scenes! There are also a lot of ensemble friends scenes, so you get characters you actually would like to know personally and even join for an evening drinking beer around the living room "divingwell". The bad guys are a bunch of sharks and they're messing up the sea while they try to ruin the hero's life.The characters include Sally Colter is realizing that her husband Jack, the hero, has "issues". Mei, the Chinese spy has made the dangerous mistake of falling in love with Jack. My favorite character is Molly, an immensely competent deep sea diver and electronics tech (you saw the blurb: her rotten boyfriend turns out to be a French spy). There are whole host of other cool characters. The sea monster is fun and scary and pops up in unexpected places. By the end of the book you're into the character's lives and want to know more!
Warning! This is a huge book, (you get your money's worth - about 800 pages in the print version), and you'll be up late several nights reading and wondering what happens next.
