4 StarsTailored for Trouble is an office-esque romance between a hilarious heroine and an jerk-face CEO with a past.
While at first, I was a little off-put that the story is written in 3rd person, it’s almost unnoticeable with the way that, Taylor, our heroine’s narrative is hilarious and relatable.
I have many books lined up to read, but for whatever reason, I was jonesing for an office romance, and Tailored for Trouble didn’t let me down—even though the majority of the setting is not even in an office.
Taylor’s monologue is hilarious and it won’t disappoint to amuse you.
The things she says sometimes is just as amusing, and sometimes over the top ridiculous, but it didn’t stop me from laughing.
At first, Bennett is an almost unforgivable jerk who I thought wouldn’t be redeemable, but don’t worry—everything he says and does is redeemed. Well, pretty much. But who doesn’t love a cold jerk-face who’s 6 foot 3?
I truly enjoyed both characters and they are both unique and well-developed.
Taylor’s motivations throughout the story are a little all over the place, and sometimes my head was spinning with her changing her mind, but in the end, it all seems to be her character. And actually pretty relatable and realistic.
The entire story is entertaining, with even the side characters being refreshing. And Bennett’s mother—hilarious.
This isn’t a normal office romance with an alpha male. Bennett is a truly layered character and it was fun to see what made him tick. Taylor is more than amusing and their relationship will have you stuck to the pages to see how it turns out.
A romance I highly recommend to those who love a funny narrative and jerk-hole heroes who have a past.

Tailored for Trouble A Romantic Comedy Happy Pants Mimi Jean Pamfiloff 9781101967225 Books Reviews
My view of this novel is that it is trying too hard to be the antithesis to 50 Shades of Grey. The character even mentions Christian Grey in reference to the male lead, and thoughts of bondage run through her head. While I appreciate the attempt at subverting the sexual tension, it comes off as trying too hard. Our heroine constantly runs away from the situation and is subsequently stalked by our hero. Ah, true love, where stalking is a sign of affection...
The main character, Ms Taylor Reed, is proud and tries to be successful with her own business endeavor, but fails miserably (Not a spoiler, this happens literally on the first page). She attempts to be a feminist throughout the story, but still falls in love with the manipulative man. The main romantic interest, Bennett, is cold and haughty at first glance, but is actually just completely screwed up on many levels. Together these two leave a trail of insanity in their wake.
Overall, it's not the worst story I read, and I did end up finishing it despite heavy reservations (I may have skipped forward a few chapters that were dead boring).
She’s about to ‘Taylor’ a little something just for him.
Storyline-
Taylor wants to change the world one pompous CEO at a time, down on her luck and at the end of her rope, enter Bennett Wade the biggest butt head of them all and he needs her help. Stuck with him traveling across the world she decides it’s about time someone taught Mr. Wade a lesson. Except between Paris, Tokyo and Bali something changes and she realizes that not everything is at it seems.
Characters-
Taylor is an idealistic girl that has had it with employees taking abuse from arrogant bosses. From a family of overachievers she is still searching for her place in the world and by fixing one cocky CEO after another she is hoping she just might have found it. Until she realizes she might have just been the laughing stock all along.
Bennett has more layers than an onion that ingested its twin. Arrogant, condescending, play boy all words that describe him, or at least seem to until…..
My Love Hate Relationship-
The rollercoaster ride of emotion toward Bennett you will take is extreme. With an introduction to his character that will make you want to slap his face you wander how the heck you are going to end up liking this bastard, but just wait Mimi has it all figured out she has strapped you in and you are going to love hate this ride sooo much. You start off ready to rumble and end up melted in a puddle on the floor.
Warnings-
Ladies get your tissues out; there are a few weepy moments in this one. No cheating or cliffhangers in sight though. It’s a standalone even though it is part of a series. If you haven’t read the first Happy Pants book before this you are definitely going to want to.
Ratings-
Writing – 5 sparkly pink pens (Mimi will have you eating out of the palm of her hand)
Heat – 4 panty melters (It’s hot and sad and hot and romantic and hot, hot, hot)
Romance- 5 hearts (*sigh* that ending….)
Violence – 1 open handed slap (Only because you are going to want to be doing some damage)
